Why isn't my senior dog eating and acting sad after an injury?

Question

My dog either got hit by a car, kicked really bad or stepped on, but its been about three days that she hasnt ate. She was eating the first two days but she has now has lost all willingness to eat. She walks only to use the restroom, besides that she lays down all day and night. She is sad and shows not excitement what so ever. She is about 12 years old... can u help me please, thank you. Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Female | 12 years and 1 month old | 12 lbs

HI, I am sorry to hear about Chiquita. If you know that she had some sort of trauma she may in a lot of pain. Pain can cause a dramatic decrease in appetite. She probably isn't moving around much because she is very hurt. Since it has been three days without improvement but actually worsening of signs - now she is not eating - I would highly recommend taking her to either her veterinarian first thing in the morning or an emergency veterinarian this evening. I am sure she needs pain medications and a thorough evaluation to determine why she is getting worse rather then improving. Best of luck to you and your dog.
