My dog threw up after new food in hot weather. Is it heatstroke?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | unspayed | 35 lbs

I switched my dogs food 2 days ago. My dogs are outside dogs and it has been very hot. They have a kiddie pool, lots of shade, and 2 large bowls of filtered ice water to drink from all day. One of my dogs (not sure which) has thrown up twice today. Both dogs are acting normal. Is this due to food change or could it be heat stroke?

Changes in diet will often cause mild stomach upsets. Monitor closely for panting, weakness or persistent anxiety which may indicate more significant issues. A probiotic supplement can help improve gut balance
