My kitten has watery eyes again. When can I vaccinate him after URI?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 3 months and 8 days old | 13.6 lbs

My kitten is 3 months and recovered from an upper respiratory infection last week by being on clavamox and terramycin.. He still isn't vaccinated because he was sick and on antibiotics. However- he just started showing symptoms of watery eyes again and I'm worried that he's sick again. I started giving him terramycin again. Should I wait to have him vaccinated again? He still eats, plays, drinks water and uses the litter box.

A lot of the viruses that cause resp infections will stay in the system and recur intermittently. I would wait until the kitten is cleared up again as the immune system is currently preoccupied and wont be able to process the vaccine optimally.
