My dog has snorting coughs. Is it reverse sneezing? When to see a vet?

Abbie has been sneezing for a few days, and now she has been having short attacks of cough-snorts? (That's the way of explaining it) once we calm her down she seems to be able to breath fine, but I wanted t see if there is anything I can do to prevent more attacks, or should she see a vet soon? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 7 years and 2 months old
