My puppy is coughing up yellow fluid and won't drink. Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 11 days old

We have recently adopted a 35 days old rottweiler puppy, first of all he was fine then he suddenly starts like coughing and throwing yellow fluid from his mouth 2 or 3 times per day.But he is very active and we feed him 4 times a day, small amount of royal Canon maxi starter. He doesn't drink water at all and he throws this yellow fluid only when he is inside our house. Please do suggest what I should do..is this a serious issue.Tanks for your consideration.

It sounds like Suttu is regurgitating. In a young puppy this could be due to a hereditary disease or a congenital defect. Either way, Suttu needs to be examined by your veterinarian right away. Depending on what is causing the regurgitation he may be able to be medically managed or surgery may be indicated.
