My dog is wiggly for grooming. What OTC calming aid can I use?

Is there a sedative I can get (not from the vet - he is too expensive) in pill form to settle my 14-pound Shih-Tzu down before she heads to the groomer? She is so wiggly that they have a heck of a time clipping her. I am hoping there is something easily found at a pet store or feed store like IFA. Any suggestions? Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Female | spayed | 1 year and 4 months old | 14 lbs

There is nothing OTC that you can give safely. It is never recommended to medicate your pet without the advice of your veterinarian. You can try a homeopathic product such as Rescue Remedy for Pets. It may help take the edge off for the grooming.
