Female 5 year old Springer has brown hair that's going blonde and is going bald over rear end. Generally fur is very short on rear end with some bald patches. Has a seresto flea dollar prescribed by vet, has no fleas and is generally got and well, no changes in behaviour.

Hair loss on the back end is most commonly due to fleas. While you are using the flea collar, it may not be as effective as is needed. I would recommend using either a spray or a pour-on product (such as Frontline) and don't forget that you will need to treat the environment as well so that Roxy does not continue to get re-infected. Other differentials for hair loss and color changes include other parasites such as mice or lice or even systemic (metabollic) disease. Your veterinarian will be able to perform a skin scrape and cytology to determine exactly what is going on with Roxy.
