Potty training an 8-week puppy in an apartment before full shots?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boston Terrier | Male | neutered | 2 months and 1 day old | 6.4 lbs

I want to potty train my 8 week old Boston Terrier, but I live in an apartment complex that has lots of dogs. All the grass areas are used as potty areas by the other dogs. Since my puppy only has his first round of shots (DHPPC), do I just use puppy pads until he is fully vaccinated? Or is there another option?

I would use puppy pads until he is a bit older and has had more puppy boosters. There are also indoor grass pads for dogs that may help make it for familiar for him so that when he does get to go outside he is prepared!
