My guinea pigs seemed to have been fighting and one got scratched on the ear and eye where it was previously bleeding. He looked like he was in pain. What can I do to help him?

If your guinea pigs are fighting I would recommend placing them in separate cages. As for the one that was injured, I would recommend cleaning the wound and placing some antibiotic ointment on it if needed. If Brownie's eye looks inflamed or he is holding his eye closed then I would be worried about a corneal ulcer. If you notice this then I would recommend taking him in to be checked out by the vet.

You should separate them first. Have the injured guinea pig examined by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating pocket pets. An eye injury can quickly become infected and is very painful. Antibiotics and pain management may be indicated after complete physical and opthalmic exams
