Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 8 years and 10 months old | 9 lbs

My cat was diagnosed on Friday with a mass in her belly. She has lost a lot of weight. I have her scheduled for an ultrasound on Monday. Starting yestreday she started sneezing and now has a runny nose. Should I be concerned about this?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I'm sorry to hear about Belle's diagnosis. The upper respiratory signs are likely from stress after the Vet visit Friday. The most common cause is from a virus. Also her immune system is likely poor due to her condition. Since you are going back Monday have the Vet check her and see if she needs antibiotics. Good luck with everything.
