My Eclectus parrot has gray down. Is it normal? Will it change color?

My 13yr old male eclectus came to me very badly plucked. Have had him for two years he has started to grow back his beautiful wings, and has all kinds gray down. Is there a posibility that this gray down Will come into his other colors?

The gray down is normal for Eclectus parrots. This layer grows first and will remain as an insulating layer when his main feathers regrow. Feed a good quality diet and mist or bathe him regularly. Doing both will promote healthy skin and feathers.
