Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | spayed | 7 years and 10 months old | 11 lbs
I brought my dog to her check up for her pyometra surgery and she was really scared and shaking and yelping, and then when we got home she started growling at everyone and bringing her toys to my bed. If i tried to touch the toys or her she would get very upset. I'm worried that because she never went to the doctor that often when she was young, and then all of a sudden she has this big painful surgery that she is traumatized now. please help

It is certainly possible that Milo is experiencing stress and anxiety because of her recent surgery. Try getting some Adaptil from your local pet store. This is a pheromone product that helps dogs stay calm. Once Milo has recovered from the initial anxiety, you may want to habituate her to going to the vet by taking her there frequently (even if you don't have an appointment), so that she no longer associates the vet office with negative experiences.
