It sounds like your dog has a severe case of colitis, or an inflammation of the colon. Colitis can be caused by many different things. Some of the more common causes include intestinal parasites, dietary indiscretion, food intolerance, irritable bowel disease and viruses. Since King is defecating blood at this point I would recommend taking him in to the vet to be examined. He may need fluids to correct any dehydration, a fecal examination performed and antibiotics and/or probiotics to help the diarrhea clear up.

HI, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor King! It sounds like he has hemorrhagic gastroenteritis (HGE) which is a fancy term for blood in the poop or in vomit. It tends to look like raspberry jam. the blood indicates inflammation in the colon. I recommend starting a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. feed about 2 cups per day until 1-2 normal stools. If he starts vomiting or doesn't improve he should see your Vet. Good luck!

It's difficult to tell for sure without seeing him, but it seems like he has developed colitis, which generally means that his colon is irritated. This could definitely be due to the strap tie, but puppies also commonly get infections that cause similar signs. Anytime there is bleeding, I recommend they visit a vet. Bleeding indicates that there is a break in the lining of the colon, which can allow infections to get in the bloodstream and cause serious complications. I recommend taking him to a vet within the next 24 hours to ensure the best outcome. I hope that helps and Butta gets better soon.
