My dog still has worms after deworming. Is another dose safe?

Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Female | unspayed | 4 years and 11 months old | 17 lbs

Is it safe to give Aubree a dewormer shot after i giving her drontal plus. I gave her the pill yeaterday but i dont think is working because i still see worms on her stool but they arent moving, also i was planning on giving her the shot on monday is it safe to do so?

What you are seeing are likely dead or dying intestinal parasites. It is common to see parasites in the stool after deworming. You may need to repeat the deworming in 2-3 weeks to kill any remaining parasites that were not developed at the time or the first deworming.

    Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. If the worms are dead, I wouldn't recommend giving an injection. Praziquantel is in drontal and the injection I think you are talking about is the same drug. Make sure you treat Aubree for fleas which is the intermediate host for tape worms. You should try to give the Drontal time to work and consider repeating it in 3 weeks..
