I have befriended a ferrel kitten. She has flaky, dry skin all over her head and ears and some hair loss. I suspect ringworm or parasites. How can I treat these conditions myself? Low on funds but want to see kitten get better. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 5 lbs

There are limited medicines you can give cats from over the counter but the place to start is a bath in baby shampoo to get the scales and dandruff off. Second you can get ear mite medication and dewormer me from a local pet store. They also sell flea medicine such as advantage or frontline that is safe for over 8 weeks of age. If it is ringworm then it is contagious to people and other animals and will need a prescription from a vet for proper medicine.
