My dog has dry flaky skin on his face, mostly on top of his head with some hair loss and a little around his eyes and bottom of mouth. He does not seem to be itchy. I got an Antiseborrheic shampoo, but I'm afraid to put that on his face. Please let me know what I can do to help his poor dry skin

Seborrhea is most commonly secondary to an underlying allergy. However, given the absence of itching (pruritis), Neji is most liklely suffering some another skin disorder such as sebaceous adenitis, pemphigus foliaceous or, given the hair loss around the eyes, vitiligo. Although the shampoo will give some temporary relief and will also alleviate some of the scaliness, to fully resolve the issue, the underlying disease will need to be diagnosed and treated. Your veterinarian will want to perform a skin biopsy to determine which disease process is occurring in Neji. You may also want to consider a consultation with a veterinary dermatologist. You can find one in your area on https://www.acvd.org/. In the meanwhile, you can continue to bathe Neji in the anti-seborrheic shampoo one to two times per week but I would keep it away from his eyes.
