Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Schnauzer | Female | unspayed | 9 months and 1 day old | 12 lbs
We've been told that our female mini schnauzer (9 months) may have ectopic utera, she is having to wear nappies while in the house cause of constant urine leaking! What tests need taking to get this properly diagnosed by the vet? She has had her first season & the vet has said the next step is spaying her in 3 months!! I feel a little bit like there is no urgency by the vet to get this sorted but her constant leaking is really upsetting me, i feel terrible that she is like this.

In my experience with ectopic ureter, it would be recommended to sort that out first ASAP, before having her spayed. there 2 diagnostic procedure that can be done, the first one is an xray after injection contrast media into the bladder, the second one is endoscopy. the first test can be done by your vet if he has some experience with it, the second test must be done by a specialist.
