I bought Orijen dog food which i read was one of the best 5 star rating but I've always been told that the food should say complete and balanced this says is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO dog nutrient profiles i also bought Fromm dog food 4 star rating and that dog food says completing balance is that the same since the orijin it's supposed to be a better food even most of the cheapest dog foods sold say complete and balanced and this food was not cheap thank

Hi there. Good question! Just because a food is expensive doesn't mean it's good. I agree that the food should say that it is formulated established by AAFCO. To have the "complete and balanced" statement in the nutritional adequacy statement a dog or cat food must either: 1. Meet one of the Dog or Cat Food Nutrient Profiles established by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) OR 2. Pass a feeding trial using AAFCO procedures. For a product to meet one of the AAFCO nutrient profiles, it must contain EVERY nutrient listed in the profile at the recommended level. If the food is not AAFCO then you cannot be sure it is actually balanced regardless of what they claim. My recommendation is to stick with an AAFCO food. I hope this helps.
