Restrict activity to just leash walks for elimination. Avoid or prevent excessive running, jumping or rough play. If he allows, check his paw and pads for redness, swelling or foreign body. Check his nails. Overgrown nails can curl under and puncture the pads causing discomfort and infection. If the lameness persists or or if he develops any of the signs above, have Booger examined by your veterinarian. X-rays can diagnose fractures or arthritic changes. A physical exam may diagnose soft tissue injury. At the very least, your vet can dispense pain management if indicated.
