Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Female | unspayed | 4 years and 11 months old | 17 lbs
How can both my dogs have tapeworms if it cant be transmitted from dog to dog ? Also they dont have flees they are both treated for flees, can it be from the chicken i cook for them and thats all they pretty much eat :( im so confused also i got the drontal plus for both my dogs and im hoping it works soon. :(

Tapeworms can be transmitted from fleas, raw meat /fish or rodents. I recommend you take a sample to be identified by your vet in order to investigate the source. Drontal plus should be effective and should be repeated after one month

Unfortunately this will not cure the tapeworms. They need praziquatel, which is a prescription medication. You can get it in the form of Drontal from the vet. I would take them both into the vet, and the vet can give them the pill so you don't have to worry about it. You will also need to treat them both for fleas, as fleas are intermediate hosts of tapeworms. Best of luck.
