Why does my dog have a growing ear lump and a black tongue spot?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labradoodle | Male | neutered | 3 years old

Hi, My 3 year old labrador has got a lump on the inside of his ear. Hes had it for about 3 weeks and its getting bigger. Its more white but looks red in the pictures. Other forums suggest its a wart. That is the only one on his body. He also has a black mark on his tongue which he has had for about 6 months. Any help would be very greatfully received. Regards Matthew Mason

This looks like it could be filled with fluid, and would technically be considered a cyst, but the only way to know for sure is for your vet to withdraw cells from it with a needle and examine them under a microscope. This is called fine needle aspirate and cytology. The spot on his tongue is likely a pigment spot, and harmless, but without photos that's just a guess.
