As far as I can tell, there are no problems giving aluminium hydroxide phosphate binder and cerenia (Maropitant) together for a dog with kidney disease. Some suggest they should be separated by between 1 and 4 hours to avoid absorption problems, but nothing I can find online in the drug interaction databases actually suggests that is necessary. Is there a definitive answer to this query?

The phosphate binder needs to be given with every meal as this is where dogs get their source of phosphorus. The cerenia helps with appetite so I would recommend giving it at least an hour prior to feeding this way it can have the greatest effect. I hope this helps.
