Dog's throat lump leaking fluid after vet visit. Should I call vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Staffordshire Bull Terrier | Male | unneutered | 37 lbs

Hi, I took my dog to the vet yesterday as he has a very large abcess like lump in his throat. They gave him antibiotics and pain killers and today it's not so hard but it seems like some kind of fluid is coming through his skin. Should I take him back

If he is leaking fluid through the lump then it may need to be opened, drained, and flushed. You should call your vet and give him/her an update and see if they want to recheck your dog for possible drainage. Hope he gets better soon!
