Does vegetable oil really work to get rid of mites on my rabbit?

So I saw this thing that says "if your rabbit has mites, put vegetable oil, and it will clear it up (twice a day) and once a week for prevention" is this true? Also, I have the vegetable oil all set up in a squirt bottle, how do I apply it? Squirt it down the side? Just squirt it in? Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 8 months old

Unfortunately that is not true and vegetable oil is unlikely to be very effective. Mite treatment and prevention can be obtained with appropriate medications commonly based on ivermectine.
