My small dog has a torn ligament but isn't in pain. Is that normal?

I have a small dog and was just diagnosed with torn ligament but does not seem to be on pain, is that possible?

Yes, this is certainly possible. Many damaged ligaments do not cause actual pain, per se, after the initial injury - but they do often cause severe lameness because the joint is mechanically unstable, which can also lead to more pain down the line due to arthritis and other degenerative problems in the abnormal joint.
