Why is my poodle vomiting, straining, green diarrhea after farm visit?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Poodle | Male | 4 years and 2 months old | 60 lbs

My standard poodle has spent the last week on a farm with goats and chickens, I noticed he has had a thick green diareah, once and know seems to be straining to go to the bathroom. He did eat this morning, but vomited shortly after. His behavior seems normal other than that.

It's possible that Windsor ate something on the farm that caused some stomach upset, or some intestinal parasites could cause signs like this. If he has any additional episodes of diarrhea (the straining might be from colitis) or if he vomits again I would recommend seeing your veterinarian. They may want to check a stool sample so it might be helpful to bring a sample if possible.
