Pet's info: Dog | Goldendoodle | Male | neutered | 55 lbs
My 5 year old goldendoodle smelled something in the front yard and completely froze and sniffed in the direction of our neighbors' houses. He flipped out. He finally went pee in THEIR yard (with our permission, very sweet lady that was worried about our dog) and took him in. He's shaking. He has trouble responding to commands. Won't eat. Took him out again, he spazzed out, sat down in middle of nowhere, total lockdown, I'm so worried about him. He'll only go when he can't smell whatever it is.

Hudson must have smelled something that really concerned or frightened him. My best guess would be another animal, like a female dog in heat or maybe a cat. You did the exact right thing by keeping him on the leash and then taking him inside. If he is still acting strange and 12-24 hours has passed you may think about taking him to the vet just to make sure nothing else is going on.
