My senior dog has an infected leg bump. How can I treat it at home?

My dog is about 12 years old and has a bump/sist on rear back leg that has grown quite large. It dosent seem to hurt him but has now started to puss. I dont have money to take him in but iam very worried about it

If it has a purulent discharge then it sounds like the mass/cyst could be infected. If you can't take him to a vet then you could clean the area with a wound cleaner and see if that helps. You could also try to soak his leg him a warm Epsom salt solution, if the bump is on the bottom part of his leg, and see if that helps. Otherwise, he may need an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, or it may need to be removed.
