My new puppy is aggressive, biting, growling. Why doesn't she love me?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | unspayed | 1 month and 21 days old | 30 lbs

I adopted olie because I thought dogs are the most loyal and loving creature on earth as pet , but olie seems to be disinterested in me.. She dont respond to me, she bites me, she is aggressive, whenever anybody touches her she started growling, she neglects me, she only come near to me when she is hungry, she does potty every here and there. This made me. Really hurt, why did she not love me back??? Somebody please tell me when she will start loving me.

Your puppy is still young and has a lot to learn. You need to work with her on potty training (consider crate training), socialization, and basic commands like sit/stay/come. Take her on walks frequently to help her energy level. All of these things will help foster and grow your relationship with her. Let her know that it is not appropriate to bite or growl by correcting her and then ignoring her after she does it. Some dogs have a more independent personality and she may be one of those dogs. But if you continue to work with her I'm sure you two will have a great relationship some day soon.
