Why are my dog's paws red and raw after lake or river visits?

Everytime after going to the lake or river my dogs paws get red and raw looking and I don't ever let her walk on the asphalt. Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 11 months old | 60 lbs

She could have an allergy to something at the lake. You could soak her paws in a warm Epsom salt solution and see if that helps. Otherwise, talk to your vet about trying her on an anti-histamine to see if that helps.
