Why is my dog's paw sensitive after being stepped on when I cut nails?

My niece stepped on my 1 year 5 months jack Russell mix paw. He legs doesn't hurt and can walk on it. But when I try to cut his toenail he crys

He may be sore and painful in the tip of his toe from the pressure. I would leave the paw alone and let him rest if he is still sensitive after a day or so, then I would have him seen by your vet.l since he can walk just fine
