My dog is wheezing, foaming at mouth, vomiting, and lethargic. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Jack Russell Terrier | Male | neutered | 10 years and 3 months old | 12 lbs

My dog was wheezing and foaming at the mouth. He threw up foamy stuff twice and had one bad diarrhea. He is now really lethargic. He is normally very hyper, strong and healthy. He can barely get up our 2 stairs and can't jump on the bed. He is a male Jack Russell, 10 years old.

It sounds as Dilbert is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.
