My dog vomited blood and grass but seems fine. Should I go to ER?

Pet's info: Dog | Goldendoodle | Female | spayed | 2 years and 7 months old | 70 lbs

Hello. I have a 2.5 year old goldendoodle that vomited some phlegm and blood (bright red) about 20-30 minutes ago. The phlegm-like vomit had large amounts of grass (I had just mowed the lawn). The vomit that appeared bloody was also phlegm-like. She is acting fine now (eating and drinking) and has an appetite. She is a very, very picky eater and didn't eat much all day - which isn't outside the norm for her. Should we go to the ER or keep an eye on her for more symptoms?

Bloody vomitus is concerning. It can indicate a gastric ulcer or a very inflamed stomach wall. Since she has just had the one episode you can keep an eye on her for now. However, if the bloody vomit continues (like more than 3 times tonight), then I would recommend taking her to the ER. Do not feed her any more tonight and let her have small amounts of water if she can keep it down. If she is not back to herself in the next 24 hours then I would recommend taking her in to your regular vet tomorrow to be checked out.
