My Boxer puppy has a bleeding spot under her eye. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 14 days old

We got a female boxer puppy on 7/3. She went for her 1st shots same day. Also received her heartworm and flea prevention chews that day (eaten 7/4 and 7/5 respectively). Nothing abnormal until yesterday 7/15 when we noticed a small raised spot under her eye (resembled a mosquito bite). Today we came home from church to find the area is now covered in a slightly wet layer of blood (like someone peeled a scab off but it was never more than a bump yesterday). Is this a lesion? Reaction? Suggestion?

It may be from a reaction from a bug bite or a scratch that occurred or an infection in the hair or skin. Clean it with mild soap and water and apply neosporin but be careful to not get any in her eyes. Take her to your vet tomorrow for a skin sample to find out the cause
