Pet's info: Dog | Airedale Terrier | Male | neutered
My dog keeps whimpering whenever he lays down or stays sits, he seems fine when standing, has been going on for around 12 hours. He's around 13 years old and has experienced similar things when he lost a major tooth a few months back but these seem to be worse and he seems to be in pain. Does he need to see a vet immediatly or will it be ok to wait until the vets are open for the day? Is there anything we can do to minimise his pain until they open?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Poor Ralph I think he can wait until your Vet opens. I do not recommend giving any human medications. That may interfere or tie the hands of your Vet if they want to prescribe something different. It does sound like Ralph is painful. It could be arthritis, a strain or a sprain or even back or neck pain. As long as he doesn't worsen I think you are fine to wait. Good luck!
