Cat's nails are splitting and he's chewing them. Should I go to vet?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 3 years and 10 months old

Hello, my cat has 2 worn and splitting nails on his right front paw, only noticed as he was chewing them a bit more frequently, do I need to take him to the vet?

I would recommend just monitoring Aggie as long as he is not acting painful and walking normally. If he seems painful or there is any discharge around the nail I would recommend taking him to a veterinarian

    If the nail is torn but Aggie is still walking and playing I would just continue to monitor it. At anytime Aggie starts limping, not walking,acting painful or having discharge from the nail i would take him to a veterinarian
