My chameleon has suspected MBD. How can I treat it without a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I have 2 chameleons I suspect have MBD. I've been giving them liquid calcium for 3 days now and they seem to be acting better but still can't climb and won't eat. I've been making sure they stay hydrated by giving them water through a dropper. There are no exotic vets in my area that I'm aware of. Any suggestions?

If MBD is suspected you have to make sure all the lights are adequate as this can play a very important role in the calcium metabolism. it's recommended to start the treatment with a Calcium injection, try to check with some regular vets in your area of living, they all have injectable calcium in their clinic, hopefully they will be willing to treat them.
