My 7 yr old cat came in last night with one side of face swollen. This morning swelling down and had drained. Is there something I can put on it to stop infection

There is nothing you can apply topically that Gizmoe won't rub or lick off immediately. Have him examined by your veterinarian. There could be a bite wound or claw wound that is causing the swelling and discharge. Gizmoe may need antibiotics for any infection and pain management since he is likely in some degree of discomfort.
