My dog has blastomycosis. Is a new lip lesion a sign of spreading?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Female | spayed | 2 years and 10 months old | 42 lbs

My dog has been diagnosed with blastomycosis and we just discovered she has a lesion on her lip. We knew about the one on her foot. That's how she was diagnosed but just noticed the one under her lip. Should we be concerned about the one under her lip?

With a diagnosis of Blasto your dog should have been put on a systematic/iral antifungal drug. If your dog is currently on this medication then I would not worry about the additional lesion on the lip. If your dog is not on any medication at this time, I would recommend calling your vet and discussing starting an antifungal since it seems that the infection is spreading.
