Pet's info: Dog | West Highland White Terrier | Male | unneutered | 5 years and 2 months old | 18 lbs
Two nights ago my dog stayed awake all night until about 8 in the morning because of a loud party he could hear. Yesterday I tried putting him to bed so he could sleep but he didn't seem tired at all. Although, I noticed he wasn't eating or drinking much at all so I tried to encourage him but he would only eat small amounts of cheese. This morning he seems tired but is still not eating much. Should I be worried that he is undereating because of his lack of sleep? What do I do to help him?

I'm sorry to hear of your concerns with Luigi. It is unlikely that he is not eating much due to a lack of sleep. Dogs will often nap throughout the day. It is possible that he caught up on his sleep while you were out doing other things. If his appetite continues to be decreased or he seems lethargic, I would recommend having him seen by your veterinarian to ensure there is nothing else going on. Stress from loud noises can cause changes in behavior. If the neighborhood is quiet again and Luigi's behavior does not return to normal, it could be that he has an underlying medical condition.
