Almost all puppies get worms from their mother so it would be best to start deworming before 8 weeks of age. The amount of times the puppy needs to be dewormed really depends on the type of dewormer that is used. It also depends on the type of parasites that the puppy has. The best thing is to deworm him and then have a fecal sample tested for parasites at one of his puppy visits.

Your puppy can be dewormed now. Puppies should start receiving deworming treatments at two weeks of age, and should receive a treatment every two weeks until three months of age. Then one every month until she is six months of age, and after that she should be dewormed once every three months.

Your puppies can get another dose of the deworming treatment two weeks after the first. They should be dewormed every two weeks until they are three months old, then every month until they are six months old, and then receive them every three months thereafter.

If Sandy has only been dewormed and vaccinated once when she was 1.5 months of age than she should be seen by a vet for more vaccines and deworming. You could also take a stool sample and have your vet test it for parasites. Also, treating her monthly with a heartworm medication, like HeartGard will protect her from common intestinal parasites every month.

Riley is not quite finished with her vaccinations. She should receive vaccinations every 3 weeks up to 16-20 weeks of age. If you want a wellness check, contact your local veterinarian and set up a wellness examination. I would still bring a fecal sample in to check for parasites to ensure the deworming was effective. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
