Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 2 years and 11 months old | 50 lbs
My husky/shep mix and I have been staying with my mother and her lab mix for the past month and a half. The dogs have gotten along really well, and with the neighbors retriever. The other night the retriever got aggressive with mine out of nowhere, which ended in a pretty bad fight. Luckily both were ok, but we have kept them separate. Tonight, mine randomly went after the lab out of nowhere. Mine has no history of aggression and the lab is totally submissive in general. Suggestions please?

This could be a case of redirected aggression. Your dog could not retaliate against the neighbor's dog, so she went after your mother's dog. Keep them separated for a few days. Provide extra bowls, toys and bedding to prevent resource protection/aggression. Consider a pheromone product such as the Adaptil collar or DAP plug in diffuser. Either may decrease any anxiety or aggression in the house.
