My German Shepherd is vomiting and won't eat. What could be wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 2 years old | 77 lbs

Have a 2yr old German Shepherd Male. He threw up half undigested food a few days back. The very next day he threw up bile. He refuses to eat anything now. As we recently got a new pup and give him cerelac, cerelac is all our adult dog eats now. I'm afraid its not enough nutrition for him. I love my Dog. Please help.

It is possible if you switched Joys food suddenly it could cause vomiting and sever gastric upset. However if Joy is still not wanting to eat I would take her the vet for possibly a fecal and abdominal x-rays. It is possible Joy has parasites, severe gastritis or a foreign body blocking her intestines. You can try a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice for 12-24 hours is small amounts. However, if Joy continues to vomit, not eat or acts lethargic he really should go to a vet
