My dog collapsed after playing. Can he go on his normal walk today?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 2 years and 2 months old | 80 lbs

My labrottie was playing with our 6 month rottie last night in the backyard. They were playing then running back and forth. My labrottie then was beating rapitly and when laying was unresponsive and had gladdy eyes. We put hom in the shower and glogged it so coll water would get on his paws. It helped but he was panting for like 2 hours. He seems fine today and last night after. Can he go on his normal walk tjis moring? Can he plat today? What should we do? Thanks

Poor Jake! He should really be examined by your vet to determine the cause of his problem. He could have an issue with his heart or lungs and your vet can run some tests to help diagnose and then determine if treatment is needed. I don't recommend letting him play outside and you should only take him on a short walk until he is examined by a vet.
