Shaking or trembling in your cat could indicate pain or discomfort. If the shaking is severe I would be worried about seizure like activity. I would recommend taking KitKat in to see your vet as something serious may be going on. Hopefully your vet can pinpoint the problem, with a physical exam and possibly blood work, and help to stop the shaking.

Shaking is usually an indication of low body temperature, pain or that the cat is scared. I would consider first if he feels warm enough, then if there appears to be anything causing pain or that could have frightened him. You could monitor for 12 hours, then It may be best having a vet examine him just in case.

If this has happened suddenly it may be a sign of pain and your cat should be seen by a vet as soon as possible. Any abrupt change in attitude or behavior is reason enough to get him seen by a vet, the additional shaking concerns me and makes me wonder if he's gotten into something he shouldn't have, if he's been in a fight and has an abscess coming up someplace, has a fever or an injury you aren't aware of, some kind of infection, there are a number of possibilities. Your vet will do an exam, some lab work, maybe x-rays of they think he needs them, and based on their findings, will be better able to tell you what is wrong and how best to treat it.
