I just want to know if after applying flea treatment if the flea eggs I still see where my cat lays are just not viable anymore or if there was a screw up in treatment. I used Frontline Plus on 7/6 three days after bathing and combing my 25lbs cat. I vacuum my house daily and I've used upholstery sprays too

Hello! Theoretically, Frontline Plus should kill flea eggs as well as adults, so if you are seeing flea eggs they should be dead. However, Frontline Plus is not my first choice for an active flea infestation, as some of the other products (Bravecto, Revolution) work better in my experience. I recommend treating monthly for at LEAST 3 months, and keep doing what you're doing to treat the environment. Consider using a different product for next month's treatment if you're not seeing a significant reduction in the fleas. Hope this helps!

If you didn't disinfect the environment, then yes. Fleas live in the environment, not on the cat, they just jump on to feed and then jump off. In addition, I have seen some resistance to Frontline. I will give you a flea treatment for Luna. First, I would give her Capstar. It's a one time pill that starts killing fleas within 30 minutes. Then follow up with a spot on treatment, such as Advantage or Revolution. This is a treatment that has to be used once a month. You will also have to disinfect the environment. Wash her bedding in hot soapy water, and vacuum the furniture and carpet surfaces. You can use a spray to kill fleas in the house, such as Indorex, or a flea bomb would work well to kill the fleas in the home. Best of luck.

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. If Piper had an enormous number of fleas, or his environment is absolutely flea infested, then yes, you could still be seeing fleas on him. If you want to increase the flea kill rate on Piper, you can either administer a Capstar tablet ( available OTC ), pick up a Comfortis flea pill from your veterinarian, use a flea spray labeled for cats, place a Seresto Collar on Piper ( I love these ) or bathe Piper in a flea shampoo. If Piper is indoors, please do not forget to treat the house both with a spray & a fogger containing IGRs ( Insect Growth Regulators ). Sometimes it takes time for flea products to work, & it can take 3 months to wipe out a flea infestation. Take care..

I would be you likely did see a flea. They are dark colored and move quickly. Flea products are not repellants so the fleas must get on the pet in order to die. I would recommend to check Franklin daily for fleas. Look around the top of his tail and between his hind legs (most common places that fleas hang out). If you see live fleas frequently (more than once a week), I would recommend to switch your flea product. Some fleas are resistant to older products like Frontline. Newer products tend to work best. I like Cheristin for cats. Hope this helps!

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this problem! Fleas can be very frustrating to get rid of in some cases. I will tell you that in my experience, Frontline Plus is not effective at all anymore for fleas - I regularly see pets who are using this product and still covered in fleas. Advantage II is the most effective over-the-counter topical flea product for cats. Stronghold or Advocate, which are prescription flea meds you can get from your vet, would be even better. Once you get the cats on a good quality flea control medication, it should be much easier to eliminate them from the environment.
