Hi, I'm Dr. Johnson. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Goodness Mady is adorable! I am located in the US and I see you are in Africa, so please keep in mind that there maybe different diseases I am not aware of in your country. The most common cause of diarrhea in puppies are intestinal parasites, virus, eating gross things, a diet sensitivity or eating something that could be stuck. The concern with puppies is that they can get dehydrated very quickly if they have too much fluid loss from the vomiting or diarrhea. They are also at a risk for low blood sugar. I recommend that you make an appointment with your Veterinarian and bring a stool sample. i wish you and Mady the best of luck!

Poor Mady. Diarrhea is never considered normal in any pet, especially a puppy. I am not sure what medicaitons she has been on, if she is still taking them, or what tests have been down on her. However I would first start with a fecal examination, because a lot of puppies have worms. Then if that is normal I would consider antibiotics (i.e. Metronidazole), probiotics (Culturelle over the counter is comparable to your pet formulated ones like Foritflora) and continuing the boiled chicken and rice or cottage cheese that you are likely doing already for a bland diet. We are also available for private consultation if you would like to discuss her case more in detail. Best wishes with your puppy and her loose stools. Take care.
