My dog's wet lip fold is infected. How to treat it? Is it contagious?

My dog has skin fold fungal infection on her lips. How can I help her its always wet. Is it contagious to my other dogs if they lick her face. Thank you

Hi, I'm Dr. Johnson. Thanks for using Petciach. Poor Chelsea! Lip fold dermatitis can causes by yeast or bacteria. I am assuming your Vet told you it was from yeast. If not then I would recommend that you make an appointment. The Vet will likely shave the area so the skin can dry out, may send home antibiotics, steroid and/or a topical application. She should also have her teeth/mouth check to make sure doesn't have severe dental disease or any other oral problems. Hopefully the infection is just from the area getting wet and once treated won't reoccur. If it reoccurs it may be from allergies or dental disease (that would cause her to drool thicker saliva more often). I do not think it is contagious so your other dog should be fine! Good Luck!
