My old dove's crop is hard and swollen after eating raw egg. Why?

my 30 yr old pet white dove has ah few problems especially with feathers inside the feathers it looks almost wrong I see black specks the main problem right now is that but dog has been dying for a year so for me to keep it alive I feed it raw egg every other day and two days ago I fed it raw egg I forced it down with a syringe and now I look at his crop and it is hard as a rock almost and big blown up please tell me what is wrong with my birds crop. There may be a mass in the crop or it could be severely impacted. Have him examined by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating birds. Hopefully, it will be something treatable. The vet can also assess the feathers to rule out infection or parasites. In the meantime, clean and sanitize the cage. Sanitize bowls, toys and perches. Discard anything that cannot be sanitized. Change the paper or substrate daily. Keep him warm and as stress free as possible until he sees the vet.
