What to do if my dog gets blisters after using Frontline Plus?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | unneutered | 3 years and 6 months old | 85 lbs

After using frontline plus on our dog he has come out in blisters all over his body and paws. It started on his neck where the frontline was applied, but has spread over his whole body . He's not completely covered he has about 5/6. Any advise how to get this sorted out would be good, as he is looking so unhappy!. Regards Sonal

Poor Mac! I would definitely bathe him thoroughly to get the product off of him. An oatmeal shampoo may help soothe him. And if he is 85 pounds, he can receive 100mg (4 tablets) of Benadryl twice a day. With him having so many sores, I would recommend to see your vet because he is likely going to need some antibiotics and maybe some steroids to help with the reaction. I would not give frontline again. I would consider trying an oral flea preventative next time. I hope this helps.
